On Water Anti-fouling and Hull Cleaning

Revitalise Your Boat's Performance with Easy Marine Cronulla's On-Water Anti-Fouling and Hull Cleaning Services

At Easy Marine Cronulla, we specialise in providing top-notch on-water anti-fouling and hull cleaning services to boat owners. With our expertise in scuba diving and specialised equipment, we are able to thoroughly clean the hull and running gear of your boat, reducing fuel consumption and increasing overall performance.

Our hull cleaning service includes bottom cleans, which involve the removal of barnacles, scum, and other forms of marine growth from the hull surfaces. We also offer to apply antifouling paint to protect your boat from future growth, using high-quality copper-based antifouling paints which are known to be effective.

To ensure the most efficient cleaning, our team of experts uses scuba tanks and wet sanding techniques. This allows us to clean the underwater parts of the hull that are often missed by traditional cleaning methods. Our experienced scuba divers pay attention to every detail, making sure that all of the fouling is removed, including eroding antifouling paint, which can increase drag on the boat.

Regular anti-fouling and hull cleaning is essential to maintain the performance and fuel efficiency of your boat. When fouling is allowed to build up, it creates extra drag on the boat which results in increased fuel costs. We can help you to keep these costs down by providing scheduled maintenance on your boat's anti-fouling systems and keeping your hull clean.

At Easy Marine Cronulla, we recommend that our clients schedule regular cleaning appointments to keep their boats running at peak performance. We understand the unique needs of each of our clients and customize our services accordingly, whether it be a racing yacht or a leisurely cruising yacht.

But why is it important to keep your boat's hull clean? When there is significant growth of fouling on a boat's hull, it has an immediate effect on the boat's performance and fuel efficiency. For example:

  • For racing yachts in weekdays/weekend club competitions, we recommend a clean every 1 to maximum 2 weeks throughout the racing season. Some of the vessels during full-time competition racing twice or more during the week, we attend up to twice a week. Off-season and winter we recommend minimum every 3 weeks.

  • For fast powerboats and runaround sailboats, we recommend a clean every 2 to maximum 3 weeks to avoid barnacles developing on propellers, intakes & stern drives. In winter we recommend minimum every 4 weeks.

  • For motor yachts and cruising yachts, we recommend a clean every 4 weeks to keep down fuel costs and maintain lower growth on the running gear plus waterline topside appearance. In winter we recommend minimum every 6 weeks.

Don't let fouling and marine growth affect the performance of your boat and increase your fuel costs. Contact Easy Marine Cronulla today to schedule your next appointment for an underwater hull cleaning and experience the difference it makes. We are happy to provide a free estimate for your service and answer any question you may have about anti-fouling and hull cleaning.
